General position summary:
Mason, Bruce, & Girard, Inc., a natural resource consulting firm headquartered in Portland, OR., is seeking an exceptionally self-motivated full-time Accounting Manager in the Portland, OR area to manage and support our accounting department. This position works with internal and external customers to meet financial and information needs. In this role, your major duties will include:
• Manage 3–4-person accounting department in professional services environment.
• Work closely with President to provide excellent financial services to internal and external customers.
• Develop and maintain financial record keeping and reporting systems.
• Regulatory reporting: supervise payroll taxes, maintenance of registration in multiple states, workers comp reporting, annual audits, etc.
• Executive reporting: compensation reports, project earning analysis, ad-hoc requests.
• Financial statement monthly closing, preparation and analysis.
• Ensure all accounting functions are performed in an accurate timely manner.
• Supervise remote employees in payroll, billing, receivables, payables, cash receipts, cash disbursement, and general ledger functions.
• Assist and collaborate with the search, selection and implementation of a new ERP system within approximately the next year.

Education and/or Experience:
• Excellent full cycle accounting skills in computerized accounting systems, preferably Deltek Vision.
• Financial statement preparation.
• ERP based financial reporting.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of wage/hour laws.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Enthusiastic, energetic, team-oriented individual.
• B.S. in Accounting or related degree.
• 5 years of accounting experience required.
• 2 years of accounting supervisory experience, or combination of all the above.

Job Conditions
• This is a hybrid position which will work both remotely and at headquarters. Our headquarters is in downtown Portland, Oregon, and is open for workers, as needed.
• Extensive computer use; physical ability to operate a telephone, computer, and sit for extended periods of time; occasionally may lift/carry up to 20 pounds.
