Opening: Accounts Payable Accountant
City: Forest Grove, OR
Hours: M-F 8:30am-5pm.

Who We Are:

Our client is a local manufacturing company that has been in business since 1950! They specialize in vegetable & sweet corn ingredients and powders for instant soups.

What You’ll Do:

Performs accounts payable accounting function including receiving and matching invoices, account coding, preparation of disbursements, and account payable-related record keeping.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Receives and process vendor invoices and internal check requests, maintain open files for PO’s, packing/receiving slips, and match to invoice, verify invoices for quantity, price, extension and applicable discounts and obtain approval from appropriate department for payment of miscellaneous invoices.

Codes invoices with accounting account numbers according to distribution in the general ledger, determined dates for invoices to be paid, keys invoices into computerized accounts payable system, maintain alphabetical open invoice file for unpaid invoices.

Review invoices scheduled for payment and special check requests with Controller, prints approved checks, prepares, and routes for signature according to check signing authority.

Receives and answers phone calls from vendors or other departments regarding payment status of invoices.

Performs other accounting duties as requested by Controller.

What You Need To Have:

3-5 years relevant accounting experience
SAP experience and added plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
EXCEL & Outlook Proficient!!
Familiarity with accounting and spreadsheet applications is REQUIRED.
