The vision of the Staff Accountant is to provide PCL timely and useful data in order to make sound and responsible financial decisions. This competent accounting professional will take great pride in the completeness and accuracy of the work they do. They perform the tasks outlined in the profile with minimal error and complete assigned work in a timely manner. The person in this role has excellent communication skills and is professional in their contact with all PCL team members and other individuals they will come into contact with in the process of completing their job duties as the Staff Accountant.

This person will have positive and professional relationships with the employees, vendors and professionals at the financial institutions with whom PCL does business. They will process and support the agency banking transactions. They will meet or exceed expectations regarding the support the accounting department is assigned to provide.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Proficiency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases and the ability to learn agency applications.
Enhanced math skills – must be able to accurately balance a budget and basic math transactions
Professional, clear, and positive oral and written communication skills both expressive and receptive
Excellent critical thinking skills in all levels of daily activity, planning, and decision making. This includes demonstrating an ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out
Able to work unsupervised and support people without other team members present

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Duties:
Assists Executive Financial Operations Officer with coordinating appropriate data to provide to an outside CPA to prepare federal and state tax returns and annual fiscal audit.
Complete the house reimbursements at the beginning of each month.
Codes and correctly inputs financial information into the accounting program.
Document preparation for tracking the credit card payments.
Process the monthly Individual Spending money.
Monthly reconciliation of the PTO and PLP for the PCL team members.
Prepare the agency deposit, record the information in the accounting program and take the deposits to the various banks.
Responsibilities
Develop accounting skills and support the team by taking on other projects as needed.
Recording, payment and billing when necessary, of all utility invoices for the homes of the people PCL supports.
Provide input/ideas and actively participate during team meetings and team work days.
Ensure that all accounting files are maintained in an orderly and timely fashion.
Assist with the budget entry into the accounting system as needed.
Assist with archiving of records as needed.
Process Accounts Payable documents and prepare payments
Invoice Accounts Receivable and record incoming payments and reconcile accounts monthly
Location: Monmouth Administrative Office (with periodic travel to outlying offices)
Type of Position: Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Starting Salary/Benefits: $20.96/hr bi-weekly beginning July 1st

Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old
Pass a State/Federal Criminal History Check
Pre-employment drug screening (for the use of illegal drugs in Oregon)
Background screening including employment and education history
Associates degree or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field of study required (a mix of education and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of degree).
**Preference will be given to those with previous eXPRS billing experience**
A good understanding of Accounting Principles Required
