We are seeking a Senior Accountant responsible for all aspects related to physician compensation as well as other high-level accounting functions. While payroll duties are included in this position, the role requires a more advanced understanding of accounting concepts than a typical payroll position. Primary duties of the position include preparing accurate and timely physician compensation reports; maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, as well as a variety of other general ledger entries in OAG’s accounting system; communicating with over 200 physicians regarding compensation, benefits, and various other topics. The Company’s business model is evolving, providing opportunities for this position to assist with developing and implementing process changes and expanded financial reporting for physician shareholders and facility partners.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
1. Coordinating and calculating monthly physician payroll
-Prepare and assure accuracy of multiple complex calculations in Excel spreadsheets related to compensation, benefits and overhead costs
-Post journal entries into Sage 100
-Calculate 401k for eligible physicians
-Import and verify accuracy of data in ADP
-Download ADP entry, balance, and enter into Sage 100
-Prepare physician compensation reports and respond to physician questions
2. Participating in the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs and processes as financial reporting is beginning to evolve. Maintaining payroll information in ADP including maintaining and reconciling various general ledger accounts.
3. Work with ADP to resolve all payroll-related issues, including:
-Payroll tax setup and rate changes
-Tax amendments
-GL mapping
4. Reconciling voluntary payroll deductions. Assure payment processing of benefit invoices and tracking by employee
5. Preparing profit sharing and 401k bank wires each payroll cycle, as well as other electronic payments
6. Reviewing AR invoices billed to facility partners and defining steps for collection of past-due amounts
7. Review and approve journal entries
8. Update and reconcile fixed asset spreadsheets
9. Prepare property tax returns
10.Assist with annual third-party financial audit
11.Prepare ad hoc reporting requests, other analysis, and special projects as requested by management
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
-Solid experience (3+ years) working with accounting software
-Advanced Excel skills
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Able to grasp new concepts quickly and work independently
-Effective problem-solving skills
-Strong reconciliation and financial analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience with ADP, Sage 100, Power Pivot, and Power Query
-Medical environment experience
